Hannah & Tom

Hannah and Tom’s wedding at The Ashes Barns in Endon, Staffordshire was such a special day to capture. Not only because it was an incredible day set in the heart of the countryside, but because Hannah is my best friend of over ten years. Getting to photograph her wedding was truly emotional. Seeing her marry the love of her life and being trusted to tell that story through my lens meant the world to me.

The Ashes Barns was the perfect setting for their rustic countryside celebration. It's surrounded by rolling hills, fields, and that calm, charming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I spent the morning capturing both bridal and groom prep, where emotions were running high in the best way possible. One of my favourite moments was photographing Hannah and Tom opening their gifts to one another. Both moments were filled with laughter, surprise, and a few tears of joy.

Their personal vows were such a beautiful reflection of their relationship. Heartfelt, funny, and uniquely them. Incredibly, they had both included lyrics from the songs they like without realising it, which had everyone smiling and tearing up in equal measure.

Throughout the day, the weather was typical of the English countryside. A few rain showers here and there, but we made the most of every dry moment, sneaking outside for portraits in the soft light. One of the highlights was getting photos of the two of them out on the small lake in a boat. It was such a romantic, storybook moment and of course, some fun car shots for Tom, who’s a big car enthusiast.

As the evening rolled in, the energy completely shifted. From emotional and heartfelt to all-out celebration. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the night was filled with dancing, laughter, and even some crowd surfing and moshing! It was such a joy to capture everyone letting loose and celebrating the newlyweds in true Hannah and Tom style.

I feel so blessed to have been there not just as a photographer, but as a friend.
